Compensation Philosophy

A well-designed Compensation program, that is fairly structured, addresses internal equity, external equity, and is competitive in today`s relevant labour market, is a key component of an overall Human Resources strategy and a vital factor in recruitment, motivation and retention.

  • Inuit Circumpolar Council Canada’s (ICC’s) goal to compensate staff in a manner that is fair, reflective of the external market, and provides recognition for the achievement of individual goals, corporate objectives, and professional competency.
  • ICC’s compensation philosophy is to offer a competitive salary to attract and retain the talent needed to ensure ICC’s success (including ensuring proper representation of Inuit staff at all levels with career development opportunities).

Specifically, ICC’s goal is to achieve the following objectives:

  • Internal Equity – based on fairness and consistency
  • External Equity and Competitiveness
  • Increased Performance and Productivity
  • Develop staff competencies to build a strong team
