ICC 2024 Calendar

WeaskedyoutosendusphotographsofInuitoutonthe ocean — hunting, boating, or monitoring conditions — and of ships visiting or passing by our Arctic communities.

We are proud to share some of the many photographs we received in this year’s calendar! Thank you for all your contributions!
Inuit know the Arctic waters better than anyone, and our communities depend on a sustainable and healthy marine environment. Arctic shipping is increasing due to climate change and ice loss. ICC advocates for Inuit at several international forums related to shipping, including the United Nations special agency, the International Maritime Organization.

The funding for this calendar came in part from the Qanittaq Clean Shipping Initiative is a unique partnership co-led and developed by Memorial University and the Inuit Circumpolar Council (ICC) Canada. For more information, visit www.qanittaq.ca
Pierre Richard took the cover photo while out on a zodiac in Mittimatalik (Pond Inlet), Nunavut. The two ships in the background are the Sea Adventurer and the Canadian Coast Guard. He titled the photo “the old and the new.”
