Taking Action to Advance the Inuit Vision
Circumpolar Inuit Health Steering Committee (CIHSC)
The Circumpolar Inuit Health Steering Committee (CIHSC) was formed in 2008. The mandate of the CIHSC is to provide guidance and recommendations related to circumpolar Inuit health and well-being and to exchange regional information on challenges, emerging trends, and best practices responding to circumpolar Inuit health issues.
The CIHSC is comprised of two representatives from each ICC country and meet several times a year, either in person or virtually, to discuss Inuit health priorities and issues and work as an advisory group on ICC health projects and initiatives.Members of the committee are selected by each country office and the chair of the committee follows the chairship of the ICC country. The current chairship is led by Greenland.

- Doreen Leavitt, Inupiat Community of the Arctic Slop
Canada is in process of nominating new committee members. The new members are expected to be chosen in Spring 2025. While Chuotka members are currently inactive on the steering committee.
